CNN Tiger Woods Response
I have never really been a fan fan of Tiger Woods, or of Golf at all, so I have no response from a "fan perspective". But from a reporter point-of-view, I believe that his fame got the better of him and now he is in a WHOLE LOT of trouble. He is now, supposedly, addicted to sex and is going to rehab for it. I am not surprised, however, that another celebrity is to rehab... :P
But he is apology is a good one and will keep people debating if it is TRUE or FAKE.

Commercial 1: Whale of a Tale
Company: Bridgestone Tires
Target Audience: Teenagers and older; Anyone who liked The Hangover
What persuasvie method?: Humor/Action
How were camera shots and editing used to enhance the message?: NOT SURE
What is the slogan/message for the company?: "Official tire of the NFL"
Was the message effective? Why or why not?: It was a funny commercial, but when I think of it, I don't remember the company.

Newspaper Closings

I think that people ARE going to have to start closing newspapers (physically) more often. The average person now a days looks on the internet for their daily news. If not, they'll just click on the T.V. and watch the news. As the generations go on, people are getting lazier and trying to avoid ways of reading. If ANYTHING, they just avoid the news and watch T.V. shows instead.

Define "Broadcast Journalism"- Airing news/current events instantaneously through out television, radio, or the Internet.
Chapter 3-"The News"
What is "news"?
-News is an account of events that interest and concern the public.
SIX CRITERIA OF WORTHINESS:
1.Unusualness: Most often found in bad news
2.Significance: Important events; ones that affect many people
3.Timeliness: When something is happening; needs to happen fast
4.Proximity: Nearby events
5.Prominence: When well known people, buildings, or places are involved
6.Human Interest: Stories about ordinary people or animals.
EXAMPLES:
1. A plane crashing
2. 9/11
3. BREAKING NEWS
4. The crasing of 35w
5. Stories about celebrities/politions
6. Stories about random people

1. Newspapers provide fuller coverage of more stories than the media

I think that the parents who are suing the government are just over-reacting. The reason that the government has the children's DNA anyways is to check for genetic diseases. The parent's arguement is that it might affect the child getting a job or getting good health insurance. If the child has something that could be depremental to a job, it is okay if the people hiring know that. After all, "Secrets secrets are no fun. Share your secrets with everyone."

Broadcat Journalism??
To me, Broadcast Journalism means a way to bring news to people via TV, Radio, Newspaper, or even BLOG. It affects the way we live because it shows us what's going on in the world.

USA Today Response
Article: "What Happens to Those 3-D Glasses After 'Avatar'"
-Im glad that the glasses are being recycled/washed after being worn for the movie. After being washed, they're sterile, so people cannot complain that its not healthy. With the tons of plastic being used for the movie, it shows that the 3-D providers are thinking of the only planet we live on. Being the most popular movie of almost ALL time, it is useful.

Interview
The person I interviewed was Zach Johnson.
He is taking Intro to Broadcast Journalism because he thought that this class would be a great one for the speech class he needed to graduate.
What makes him unique is that he likes try different creative things until he finds something he likes.

-LOTS of sports... (Was in: Football, Basketball, Baseball)
-In High School, tried Wrestling ang Track.
Overall, when I met him, I noticed that he's a GREAT writer and I expect him to do well when he graduates :)
